According to Sri Sathya Sai Baba's teachings, Atma is the basis of each being. It is a spark of Divinity, which is the source of our life and consciousness. Different activities in Sathya Sai Organisation have the common goal of bringing man to this divine essence and letting him realize it. The spiritual activities help to reach this goal by following ways:
- by devotional singing
- by reading and contemplating the spiritual teachings in study circles
Devotional singing belongs to the basic practices of all religious traditions. Also Sri Sathya Sai Baba teaches this important practice already since the beginning of his work. The aim is to concentrate the mind on God in his various aspects, names and forms, as well as on good virtues and spiritual values which we strive to develop. The music and singing are a mighty tool which may influence a man. The text of a song together with the music help to cleanse the mind and fill it with love, peace and bliss from experiencing the presence of the Divine.
Devotional singing is one of the fundamental and cherished activities of Sathya Sai Organisation. Regular singing takes place in Sathya Sai Centre in Prague every Thursday at 18:15 and once a month on weekend (typically first Sunday in month). Additionally there are meetings in České Budějovice, Brno, Pilsen, and Nové Strašecí. More information can be found in Event schedule.
Study circles are means recommended by Sathya Sai Baba facilitating study and comprehension of spiritual teachings. Participants of a study circle contemplate on a quotation from a spiritual text (typically by Sathya Sai Baba, but also from Bible and other holy texts). Everyone expresses his or her oppinion and shares with others own experiences. This leads to achieving the comprehension of the text being studied. Relating the teachings to the everyday life and practicing it is also an important objective of study circles.
Study circles take place regularly once a month (except for summer holiday) in Prague. The current schedule may be found in the Event schedule section.
